One thing I've noticed as a frequent restaurant goer is that many women are more obese than the men they accompany. Perhaps one of the reasons for this is that the plates that are served to men and women are the same size. If you have a 200 lb man and a 140 lb woman who both order the same dish, and they both eat everything on the plate, the woman will be more likely to gain weight, period. Here in Tex-Mex country, some of the restaurants have devised a solution to this problem: the "senorita plate." This is a smaller-portioned dish of any of the regular items on the menu. For many women and smaller-framed men, the "s" of the senorita plate might aid you in your weight loss efforts, if you have been sticking to the NOS diet without seeing any weight loss. If your restaurant doesn't have a senorita plate, choose the "small," as I've seen advocated here already. For example, I like to eat at Quizno's. I'm 5'10", 202, and I order a small sandwich with plain baked chips and a tea. I can't count the number of times I've seen short, smaller framed men and women, usually overweight, ordering a regular or even a LARGE sandwich, with Doritos and then hit the soda machine (two or three times for refills - no seconds!) Then we all wonder why we got overweight in the first place (I speak from experience, <wink>) I love the points I've seen in this group already, on the site and in the archives - don't "supersize, subsize!" Or choose the "senorita plate!" Later. ===== "Yond Cassius has a lean and hungry look; He thinks too much: such men are dangerous." -- William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar, Act I, Scene 2 __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
