I eat a lot of these, actually, I drink them. I juice them with a regular old hand juicer, not much trickier than a grapefruit, really. The downside is they're pricey. But this is the time of year for them, and they're delicious and ridiculously good for you. Drink them out of a wine glass and you'll feel more like you've gotten your money's worth. They look the part, and one pomegranate more or less yields a scant red wine glass. They also have a long and distinguished history, for those who like that in a fruit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pomegranate Do be careful, though, Pomegranates have been know to cause supernatural trouble. Besides the Persephone story mentioned in the above link, some traditions hold that the "apple" in the garden of eden was more likely a pomegranate (though others hold that it was the fruit of the tree of life, so I guess it's a wash).
