In the interest of strict accuracy: "You could easily save a life" should probably read: "This may be the best shot at saving a life you ever get (let's hope)." Sorry for the off topic post. I read about it in a similarly off topic post elsewhere and figured if it moved me there it could help here as well. To bring this thread at least somewhat back on target, here's a diet/charity subsystem that I've been practicing for a few years now: 1. Problems: spare change seeks a vending machine. It is a law of nature. And while I jam all these extra calories into me, billions of people go hungry all over the world. 2. Partial solution: all change goes into a charity bucket to be donated via coinstar (or whatever) once a year to fight hunger. You are much less likely to feed the vending machine if you think you're stealing from the mouths of starving children. Bigger bonus: some of those children will actually be fed. It's a small thing, but it's a start. 3. name: "donate your spare calories" Sorry I've been out of it the last few days, group-wise. Officially back in...
