I've opened a google adwords account, which is surprisingly easy. In five minutes I was all set up and seeing my nosdiet ad (in last place of course) on searches for "diet." It's a good deal. You only pay for when someone clicks your ad, and you can set a maximum daily budget. The minimum cost per click through is 5 cents, but the more you're willing to pay the higher you're likely to be placed (placing works like bidding on ebay). I stuck with 5 cents and a 50 cent a day limit. The problem? Insufficient clickthrough rate -- .1%. I was delisted. I flatter myself that it's simply a matter of choosing more targeted keywords, both so I get positioned higher and am more likely to be seen by *susceptible* searchers. Any suggestions? I can use phrases, too. See http://adwords.google.com for details. P.S. Hits were down in April! Mush, zealots! http://www.nosdiet.com/lumberjack.html |
