Hello everbody!
Well I love soup as well as the next person. I had a friend give
me his soup recipe handed down to him from the American Heart
Association Group after his heart attack. I find it very delicious
and satisfying. The main thing about this soup is it cuts down on
fat and starches but leaves all the yummy veggies and Chunks of Beef
or Chicken which ever you prefer.
Heart Right Soup:
1 lb chicken(no skin) or beef tenderloin (cut all fat)
2 whole onions quartered
3 whole tomatoes quartered
1 head of cabbage quartered
1 bag of baby carrots
1 bag frozen green beans
Put all ingredients in a large stock pot and cover with water. Let
cook for 2 hours on low (for gas ranges) 3 0r 4 (electric).
You can season this with Mrs. Dash's or I wait till it's done and let
everyone season there own.
Fresh veggies if you can add them make it better. I also like to add
a little minced garlic while everything is cooking. This should make
quite a bit of soup that you can freeze in large or quart freezer
baggies and enjoy later when you need something quick.
I made some after the fiasco of a wedding and I feel alot better --
lol!
