Having lived for many years in Switzerland, and going to visit friends 
in
Europe, or being visited by them here in the states....I am very aware 
of
what you speak. Sometimes those across the Atlantic seems very like a
world away to us in the USA, and we do need to be reminded we are not the
only nation that tries to help mankind.
