My parents are German, so I grew up eating a quasi
traditional German breakfast that's filling, tasty,
somewhat healthy, quick to prepare, and no S. I'm not
sure it's for everyone, but I like it enough that I
eat it or some variation of it most weekdays.

Open faced sandwich consisting of:

1 slice mestemacher bread (hard core traditional
German black bread)
plugra butter
fancy cheese
some nuts (cashews are best)
chopped parsley

Sometimes I toast the bread or microwave it with the
cheese a little. If the cheese is sufficiently
powerful in itelf, I'll skip the butter. I don't
always have parsley around (but I do a lot, because I
like to cook, and they sell parsley in these
ridiculously large bunches. This is a good way to get
rid of it, by the way).
