personally i dont think kids need sugar or snacks because i was raised basically no s we ate when my mother put the food on the table .. we did not have free access to the kitchen or the food . she had to walk to the store and bought food for meals only and you did not dare touch anything not that there were any snack foods as she only carried what she needed for the next days meals ...occasionally my dad took us out on sundays for ice cream .. we did not have a freezer to keep it at home . so it was an actual treat he would take the whole family out .. when i was older we moved farther in the country so my mom had to have a car and she would shop for the week and have more food around and she could buy half gallons of ice cream that was when i started snacking and eating in between meals and gained my weight..i notice when i went to europe where they have tiny refrigerators also they only shop for the next day so do not have giant amounts of food around to tempt them they buy just what they plan to eat the next day..and i also notice when i used to shop at places like sams if i bought a case of pudding etc my kids ate it up in a week just the same as if i had bought a six pack .. so shopping in quantity could be another problem .. if you feed your kids three healthy meals they should be fine ... if we had desserts as kids they were homemade cookies or fruit.. -------Original Message------- From: Date: 11/02/04 06:16:43 To: Subject: [nosdiet] no S plan and children yeah ! i made today.. although it was a little rough tonight. i "slashed" off my day on my calender and felt a sense of accomplishment. my precious little boy (12y/o) is overweight after a lifetime of modeling my really bad eating habits. do you guys encourage your kids to no s ? i think that kids might need snacks, but with an overweight child it is hard to know how much to restrict food. thanks ! donna o [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] To visit your group on the web, go to: To unsubscribe from this group, send an email to: Your use of Yahoo!
