We have almost 300 members in this group now. It's
less of a chat room than an auditorium. So please
let's:
1) try not to be insulting
2) stay roughly on topic
I don't for a second want to discourage people from
posting
introductions/problems/questions/answers/progress
reports. These are always welcome. But keep in mind
that there is a cost, in terms of many people's
attention, for every post. It may not be much, and it
may be worth it, but it exists, and it adds up. I
think if we keep this in mind it will continue to be
possible to keep current with the group without making
it a full time job, even as we add many new members.
If you want more action than this bigger, slower group
can provide, check out the nosdiet chat group:
Besides the real time chat, posts are unmoderated so
they go through more quickly.
Just a friendly reminder for the new year, not
thinking of anyone in particular. I'm hoping to have a
replacement system that can accommodate a wider range
of posting appetites some time in 2005 (and not show
all those darn full page atkins ads).
best,
Reinhard
