Okay, not so sure where this one goes in terms of NoS categories, but it is really yummy and a good fix for those sweet craving NoSssers who are looking for a healthy dessert. I use soy milk, but I guess you could substitute cows milk if you use that normally... It's a strawberry shake :) Recipe: 1 cup soy milk 1 cup of unsweetened frozen strawberries. 1 or 2 ice cubes 2 teaspoons of sugar (or non sugar sweetener) Frappe until well mixed in blender :) Approximate calories Sugar 32 Fruit 90 Milk 100 Ice 0 Not bad at all... When you use the ingredients in these amounts you wind up with a very thick frosty strawberry shake. Perfect for spooning! Yes I know, there's some sugar, but it is so much less than if you went and bought a traditional shake and it is very nutritious too... You could even have it as part of your meal (even though it's not on a plate) and combine it with a small salad or something :) Although I'm not so sure how nutritious frozen Strawberries are, you really have to use frozen or else it will be much more watery and less shake like... These are also convenient because you can buy a few bags in advance at the market and don't have to worry about spoilage... Then when a sweet craving hits you, you have something ready to go! Yummy! Even my nine year old son loves it! Try this out guys and let me know if you like it :) Again, have a great day all :) Love, Deb |
