The esteemed Reinhard keeps good company with his diet advice: Check out www.calorieking.com. The author of that site, Allan Borushek, aka "The Calorie King," also publishes a book titled, "The Doctor's Pocket Calorie, Fat, and Carb Counter." On page 2 of the King's booklet, under "Weight Control Tips:" Eat Sensibly: * Avoid fad diets. Eat 3 sensible meals daily with adequate fruits and vegetables. * Limit portion size. Limit fats and high-fat foods, SUGAR, SODA, and alcohol (emphasis mine.) Sound familiar? ;) There are more tips, including exercise and reshaping eating behaviors, most of which have been discussed on the Reinhard lists numerous times. Of course, the King is all about tracking calories. I prefer the Czarist version of limiting myself to one plate of food per meal, minding portion size at the same time. I don't like doing math while I eat. It doesn't digest well. :D Thought I'd share this info with the group. To paraphrase a now defunct dictator, "This is the mother of all diets!" :D Allan aka Nathan Algren, The Lost Samurai ;) p.s. Funny how you can mention King, Czarist, and dictator all in a message about food.. What does it mean to be Samurai? To devote yourself utterly to a set of moral principles. To seek a stillness of your mind. And to master the way of the sword. - Capt. Nathan Algren, "The Last Samurai" __________________________________ Yahoo!
