Oh come on now --- if that were true, the entire US would be slim and
trim with the availability of the aspartame laden foods out there. Have
there not been numerous studies that indicate we are getting fatter as
more "sugar free" foods are eaten? I believe we are now at a 
60%
obesity level?

My own doctor (with a PhD in nutrition) advised me that we are better
off eating REAL sugar than we are any of the substitutes. I put this
along the lines of eat real butter, drink real milk, eat real food.

And the fact that aspartame is a billion dollar business has no bearing
on their finding ;-)
