Just want to step in here before a war breaks out... I don't think food journaling is a simple right/wrong issue. I think for some people at some times it can be useful or at least educational. For others (and do I think the majority falls into this camp), it is a grueling chore. Though it's not incompatible with the nosdiet, it's certainly not a necessary part of it. The idea is that the nosdiet rules make it easy to get a sufficient sense of what you are eating without having to explicitly keep track of every morsel. As I've written on http://www.everydaysystems.com ****************************************************** Are there any guiding principles shared by all the systems? Yes. Here they are: ... * No keeping track of things. None of the systems require you to keep track of anything beyond the day of the week, what planet you are on, etc. You have too many things to keep track of already. * Small temporal footprint. They are designed to be minimally intrusive, timewise. Ideally, the systems should free up time, not take more of it. ... ****************************************************** |
