I think we could invent a name for that condition - scalitis, perhaps :)

your plan sounds good. small steps, bit by bit.

but continue to reflect on how meaningless they numbers are if you weigh
yourself lots. I have found using affirmations helps. someone once told 
me
that the subconscious is literal, so even if the thinking bit of you isn't
quite sure, or doesn't believe, the affirmations will eventually convince
the subconscious. so say to yourself, sing, write down .... I don't need 
to
weigh myself very often, scales are a waste of time, I don't need the
scales.
