dear bonnie belle
you have a wonderful heritage
I guess real Meditterrean peoples did not eat that much pasta, nor red
meat.
..some, and whole grains. I remember my Sicilian Grandma who was a thin
Vegetarian...she ate a tiny bit of cheese and fish, but mostly beans,
fruit
and veges, which she walked to the market near her home in Gloucester
for,
daily. In Switzerland, it was the same but we ate very little meat, a lot
of
cheese, hardly never had fish, except for perch from Lake Geneva in the
summer...we used to go fishing a lot. Lots of fruit and veges.
and it seems the basic recipe for healthy eating is the same, vegies, fruit,
grains, protein in moderation, and moderation generally, with some exercise,
again in moderation.

love
jen

it
was a no S type of Eating. The Italians in this Land of Plenty- go
overboard
with the pastas, bread and red meats, and too much of anything-even my
favorites bread a nd cheese is fattening...no Seconds. Yes one can gain
without sugar, my problem is no Snacks....arrrrrg.
