Hi Louann,
The idea is you strictly avoid snacks, sweets and
seconds during the week. On S-days, these rules become
mere suggestions (the *sometimes* clause).
I've found that the best way to keep s-days under
control is to plan ahead and get a limited quantity of
something I really love. My sweet tooth or whatever
will be placated, and by rewarding myself I preempt
resentment eating. Eating a *bowl* of ice cream as a
reward, because you like yourself, is not only more
pleasurable than, but can also prevent you from,
eating a *gallon* of ice cream in revenge, because you
hate yourself. And as I mentioned, it helps if the ice
cream is really good.
But I'd recommend staying focused on non-s days for
the first few weeks. Once you have those habits down
the weekends become much more tractable.
