I was trying to find a link to the New York Times Magazine article
of the above mentioned title, but can't so I will just type it out
here....... Actually, the end of the article mentioned that
even "France is grappling with it's own 'American problem': the
consumption of freedom fries has led to an expanding population of
supersize enfants"
The short article is about a French art exhibit, near Lyon which
features pieces about the obesity epidemic. There is a photo of one
of the pieces which is called "Bubba Gulp", a jumbo steel drum
of "sweeter than sugar" the piece "contains the average American's
annual corn-syrup intake: a whopping 63 pounds. The lid features a
pig, while the label states some ugly facts: Americans eat 31
teaspoons of sugar a day; the Department of Agriculture recommends
10 to 12."
Chances are most of this corn syrup is in liquid form, like soda...
