I was thinking about Carrie's post about how gross it feels when we
overstuff ourselves. I am just getting in touch with this feeling
myself. Growing up I always equated being stuffed with being a good
thing, no matter how uncomfortable I was sometimes. My dad ate second
and third plates routinely at every meal. We would go to a buffet and we
would be there forever waitng for dad to stop eating. And he wasn't even
fat - he had 2 very physical jobs and probably burned it all off. I am
pretty sure this is the case because he gains 10-20 pounds every time he
takes a vacation from work. LOL! I specifically remember him telling me,
"Jeanette, eat a little bit more and you won't be hungry again before
dinner" or "Jeanette, eat some more so we can get our money's worth"
(at
the buffet). No wonder I overate for so long! LOL!
I am starting to hate that overstuffed feeling and try to avoid it now.
No S is a great tool for this because when you have a standard
meal/plate it's hard to stuff yourself. Now I still enjoy overeating on
holidays! LOL! But it doesn't have to be an everyday thing anymore for
sure....
