I just started reading "Dr. Bernstein's diabetic Solution". this doctor likes his patients to keep their blood sugar VERY low. Target figure 85, which I think is lower than many non-diabetics, and he bans a whole load of foods as too high in carbs, including carrots and fruits and tomatoes and yellow sweet peppers. I target my blood sugar at 125 or less, last time I checked it was 72, I check several times a day.I adore young carrots and don't think I can or want to give them up. So a quick check and a carrot stick is the answer. My medication doesn't cause dangerous lows.If I'm just thirsty and like a lot of over weight people, I can confuse thirst with hunger, I make a fruit tea and drink it unsweetened.
