I'm guessing by now everyone has heard about the take 10,000 steps a day
thing? (if not google 10,000 steps)

Anyhow, I recently got a nifty little pedometer off ebay for less than
$10
including shipping, and have started wearing it. I forgot to put it on
yesterday, and had already made 3 trips to the barn before I remembered,
darn it! But I still had 10,204 steps by the end of the day even with
missing that. I watched it as I walked, and it is amazing accurate on
counting.
10,000 steps is equal to 5 miles they say.

Thought it was a nifty little tool to use. I actually walked circles around
my kitchen island while waiting for the microwave to ding <g>

It came with a little reference chart that tells you how many steps you
have
to take to burn 300Kcal. It is in kilograms, but you can convert ;-) For
a
70 Kg person, it is 7700 steps. A 90 Kg person, 5900 steps. A wee 40 Kg
person would need 13,400 steps!
