I don't actually weigh the carbs, I just keep the quantities down. For example, 2 baby new potatoes with my main meal or a piece of fruit. I have been reading Richard Bernstein and he allows his patients 42 grams or so available carbohydrate a day and bans things like carrots and tomatoes as well as the obvious potatoes and parsnips. I'm not prepared to give up carrots and fruit and I prefer yellow bell peppers to any other colour. I use vegetables and fibre to feel full, but I no longer really need that feeling. Calorie free fizzy drinks are good too. I'm rarely hungry. I was yesterday, so I checked my blood sugar it was down to 68.5.5, which is below even Bernstein's ideal of 85 and my own target of under 125 at any time. So I had a rice cake with half-fat butter and marmite. The rice cake has about 8 gm of carbohydrate. I haven't translated to imperial measures.
